CONTACT LENSES

Soft lenses offer great comfort, good vision, and flexibility for overnight wear making them an ideal choice, especially for a new wearer. They are available to correct myopia (short sight), hyperopia (long sight) and astigmatism. Without doubt, frequently replaced lenses are best for eye health, and the newer silicone hydrogel materials give the added advantage of supplying more of the essential oxygen required for your eyes. For more complex cases, specially designed and precision made soft lenses are fitted.

Recommendations for successful long term wear
Follow our instructions, particularly for the length of time you lenses can be worn.
Clean your lenses regularly, with fresh sterilizing solution every day.
Keep to the recommended care system.
Don't wear lenses overnight unless you have been advised that it is safe to do so.
Every day, check that your eyes:
See clearly
Feel comfortable
Look good (in the mirror)
Make sure that you have regular eye health checks when wearing contact lenses.
Our experience with contact lenses is invaluable. From the early days of hard lenses made from clinical quality perspex, we've observed the development of new rigid and soft materials, and now are delighted to be fitting the latest lenses available in the world.
If you don't want to wear glasses, contact lenses could well be your ideal choice.
Rigid lenses are still the best choice for many people. Though the initial comfort may not be quite as good as soft, long term wearing of rigid gas permeable lenses has few complications, and vision is usually very clear. High oxygen levels are available with newer materials, solving many of the problems associated with older hard lenses. Some vision conditions, including keratoconus and corneal ectasia following complications of laser refractive surgery, can only be corrected with rigid lenses.
After examining your eyes, we will make recommendations on the most suitable type of contact lenses and care system for best vision, eye health and your sporting or occupational requirements. By following our guidelines, you can expect successful wear of contact lenses. For some lenses, a free trial pair is available so that you can try before you buy. Our fitting package covers all attention over a four month period during which we carefully check for anything unexpected. Replacement lenses will only be supplied if your eye health has been checked within the past 12 months.
